Doing Dot-to-Dot activities really helps to enhance writing skills and are valuable pre-writing teaching tool. It is fun to do and has a number of advantages. Kids can learn to follow the sequence of numbers or letters, create shapes, focus their pencil, and learn how much pressure to apply to paper.
Working on a dot-to-dot teaches kids the order of numbers and helps them count. Moreover, completing dot-to-dot alone is an excellent confidence booster. It's also great to enhance hand-eye coordination where visual motor control is developed though dot-to-dot work. Fine motor skills also develop through dot-to-dot activities where they can strengthen their hand and finger muscles that can be used in their pre-writing skills.
