Learning handwriting takes time and practice for each child. Much of this involves taking control of the movements of the arms, hands and fingers required to form numbers and letters.
Line tracing is only one way to help children prepare to write. Tracing can help children develop fine motor skills, improve hand-eye coordination, dexterity and spatial consciousness.
With these free tracing lines, kids can trace and put into practice the skills they need to write, including how to hold a crayon or pencil. Tracing curved lines and straight lines, circles and other shapes defines the muscles and coordination of children, allowing them to move more easily to writing.
This worksheet is a 14-page pdf file that includes straight lines, curved lines, zigzag and other line forms. I also included a few shapes to trace and other figures such as nature, things we use for education, and more.
