Sorting Workbook

Sorting and grouping of things is a significant cognitive skill. It teaches your little one to notice similarities and differences, to learn to categorize and develop literacy and numeracy skills from an early age. Sorting activities often attract children and many of them naturally sort based on the qualities and features they notice visually without being taught.

This basic prerequisite for a better mathematical understanding can often be ignored as purely game-based activity that children instinctively engage with. However, it is important and essential part of beginning mathematical skills and an important part of each child's development path.

As adults, we often forget how important basic skills are to young children. There are a lot of early-stage skills that need to be understood before they can engage with the number. This includes identifying and describing attributes, pairing, sorting, comparing and classifying them. A child must be capable of classifying objects in groups before they can participate in the learning of a significant number. Children need to learn how to sort and classify before they are able to move on to activities that involves numbers because they need to know what they are counting before they are able to actually count them.

Through this workbook, kids will sort various types of activities.. This includes the alphabet, five senses, hot and cold, and more.
